David Gelvez is an economist from the Universidad de los Andes with a minor in mathematics, and he holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University. In his doctoral studies he specialized in network science, international trade, and industrial organization, and he was a member of the Human Nature Lab and the Yale Institute for Network Science. His honors include being a George W. Darr Fellow at Yale and an Alberto Magno Scholar at the Universidad de los Andes.
David has worked as a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group, as data and innovation advisor to Grupo Energía Bogotá, as Vice President of Innovation at Lulo Bank, and as Digital Innovation Project Director at Colombia's National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN). He has also taught at Yale University and the Universidad de los Andes.
He currently directs the digital track of the MBA program at the Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración (CESA), leads Fedesarrollo's Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies initiative, and is The Windfall Trust's Latin America affiliate.
