About us

Securing humanity’s AI future

Society faces an urgent challenge. If tech labs achieve their goal of creating transformative, human-level AI, an enormous windfall of wealth and productivity will be created, bringing both extraordinary potential and significant disruption — including mass joblessness.

Vast resources and funding are being channeled into building these systems. But without a plan for their economic impact, the consequences for humanity could be devastating.

About Windfall Trust

We are a network of independent researchers, innovators, communicators and strategists, working to prepare society for the economic disruption that transformative AI will bring, and to shape a future where the windfall that it generates benefits all of humanity.

Unlike academic centres, we go beyond analysis. Unlike advocacy groups, we go beyond rhetoric. And unlike governments, we are free to explore bold, long-range policy ideas unconstrained by election cycles or legacy structures. Windfall is not a think tank. We are a policy accelerator for the age of Artificial Intelligence.

We approach this work through three interconnected pillars:

Inspire

We’re here to spark and amplify a global conversation about the economic impact of transformative AI — ensuring widespread understanding of possible futures and the immediate need for action.

Unite

We’re bringing together diverse stakeholders — including tech labs, economists, policymakers and international organisations — to build global commitment to a future where no one is left behind.

Build

Together, we will conduct research and design fair, transparent global frameworks that ensure the immense wealth generated by transformative AI is fairly distributed.

Our values

Shared prosperity

We are dedicated to creating a world where the economic windfall generated by transformative AI is shared equitably. Our work is guided by the principle that global wealth redistribution is essential for a fair and sustainable future.

Inclusive advancement

We’re committed to ensuring that technological progress uplifts humanity. By prioritizing ethical innovation, we strive to complement human potential, address systemic inequalities, and build resilience for all.

Global perspective

We recognise that the economic consequences of transformative AI will be felt across the globe. We’re working to ensure that low- and middle-income nations have a voice in AI governance and access to its economic benefits.

Ethical leadership

We take decisive and forward-thinking action, holding ourselves accountable to the highest standards of integrity. Our work is driven by a commitment to inspire trust and lead with responsibility in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Collective action

We believe in the power of bringing people together to achieve transformative change. By building a global coalition of stakeholders, we aim to inspire and mobilize collaboration for shared prosperity.
